Alongside creating roadmaps for financial security and independence, our team have also been busy pursuing one of our other key company ambitions: continuous professional development.

Find out what’s been happening and how we’re constantly working to improve the service that we offer you.

Martin passes the AF4

There’s some good news this quarter for our financial adviser, Martin McLernon, who passed his AF4 Investment Planning exam from the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII).

The AF4 is the CII’s unit related to everything advisers need to know about investments and the management of investment portfolios.

From the course, Martin has furthered his technical knowledge of investment planning to an even more advanced level throughout 150 hours of study, culminating in a gruelling three-hour exam.

Crucially, the unit teaches advisers and planners how to apply this knowledge to practical situations and a client’s individual goals, a key part of the Digney Grant planning philosophy. That means Martin’s new skills will complement our broader financial planning style.

Martin’s expanded range of skills mean he’ll be able to help you with even the most complex investment needs you may have moving forwards. So, if you’re in need of assistance with your investment portfolio from Digney Grant, you may well find yourself working with Martin in the near future.

In 2020, the pass rate for the AF4 unit was just 55%, so Martin has done extraordinarily well to pass with flying colours.

A big congratulations to Martin for all his hard work – a well-deserved achievement!

Seán passes the CISI Level 6

This last quarter has also been a successful one for our director, Seán Digney, who passed the highly prestigious Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments (CISI) Level 6 in Private Client Investment Advice and Management this month.

The CISI Level 6 is a hugely significant qualification, giving financial planners the ability to structure investment portfolios that are specifically tailored to their clients and their wider financial objectives.

Planners with this particular qualification are also able to regularly review portfolios and evaluate where to improve and refine the plan, all while continuously adhering to the specific needs of their clients.

Seán went through an enormous 203 hours of qualification time to achieve the Level 6, followed by a three-hour written exam. This experience will further hone the investment offering that he and our planners can offer you.

A huge congratulations to Seán for this fantastic achievement.

Qualifications like this are vital in ensuring that our team are always improving professionally. For you as a client, this means you can be confident that the advice and financial plan you receive is of the highest possible quality.
