Our fee philosophy

We work on a ‘No surprises’ philosophy

We have a straightforward, clear approach to charging fees for all of our clients.

Traditionally, when it came to investment advice, financial advisers focused on the sale of investment products and were remunerated by a high initial fee or commission. We believe this meant products were sold without regard for ongoing performance of the investment, or if they met the needs of the client.

Our financial planning fees are structured as follows:

  • We hold an initial meeting with you, at no charge, to understand your goals. We’ll take the time to get to understand where you are and where you want to be with your finances.
  • If we believe we can help you, we’ll let you know what the charge will be for us to put together a financial plan to help you to achieve your goals.
  • Once everything is set up, should you wish to continue, we will review the performance of your investments, and meet with you annually to review how your situation may have changed. We will agree a fee for this ongoing service at the outset.
  • There are no hidden costs and we are upfront about what you will and won’t need to pay for.

Just so you know, fees may be paid directly by you or deducted from your portfolio. We’ll agree how you wish to pay before undertaking any work.
