Client journey

What you can expect when you work with us

Whether you come to us for financial planning or mortgage advice, we aim to provide you with clear financial direction. This is achieved by having a full understanding of your current financial position, objectives and identified needs. Once we understand this, we can provide suitable solutions to meet your specific goals.

The financial planning journey

Our aim is to become your financial planning partner for life. When it comes to planning your financial future, our journey together will look something like this:

1. Initial meeting and agree service level

This meeting is held at our expense. Its main purpose is to obtain as much information as possible relating to your personal and financial circumstances and objectives. Where applicable, we’ll discuss your attitude to investment risk. We’ll also explain our fees after which you can decide how you would like to take things forward.

2. Review of existing position

With your permission, we’ll contact all of your current providers of pensions and other investments to work out where you stand currently. We may ask you for further information and ask permission to liaise with other professional advisers, such as solicitors and accountants.

3. Analysis of possible solutions

Once we’ve gathered this information, we’ll assess whether your current financial arrangements will be adequate for meeting your goals and objectives. If not, we’ll explore alternative options for you to consider.

4. Recommendation

We’ll provide you with a report which comprehensively outlines your current position and details our professional observations. By examining these observations against your stated objectives, we will recommend the actions you need to take to reduce the barriers to your objectives, minimise any risks we have identified and maximise the opportunities for achieving your goals. This is your financial plan.

5. Implementation

Once we’ve discussed and agreed on the recommendations, we’ll move forward with implementing the financial plan on your behalf. We’ll do all we can to keep the form-filling to a minimum and will keep you informed every step of the way.

6. Ongoing advice

Your financial plan will work most effectively if you continue to review and refine it over the years. Life changes, your goals will change, and new challenges will present themselves. By continuing to work with us, we can make sure that your plan continues to meet your goals throughout your lifetime.
